Hey ADTRAN.  Congratulations on the IT Magazine 2005 Editor's Choice Award for NetVanta 2054 VPN-firewall, which was recognized for price, value - and of course, function.

ADTRAN NetVanta 2054 is perfect for small or home offices and acts as an Internet gateway or a secure connection for telecommuters.  With a built-in 4-port switch, NetVanta 2054 provides a stateful inspection firewall and IPSec VPN tunneling with DES/3DES encryption.

n-Command NetVanta Internetworking Essentials is available FREE of charge via a download from www.adtran.com. This basic version allows for management of up to 15 nodes. Interlink sell the Enterprise edition which comes with a 500 node license. "Enterprising" solution providers are using n-command to provide managed services to their small customers. If you are doing that we'd love to hear from you! Please email me at cheryl.michael@adtran.com -Cheryl Michael Distribution Marketing Manager

I have used the 2054 in 3 separate applications involving VoIP and telecommuter IP phone and VPN users. I have found the product manageable to set up and program, easy to maintain, and very reliable. I assume the price-point is the usual Adtran value, though Adtran happens to be the only internetworking equipment we currently resell, but the biggest selling point to our customers is the 5 year warranty. Congratulations on the award, and I have several more of these going in over the next couple of months. Great product.

We've responded to numerous questions about the Netvanta 2054 from a variety of Value Added Resellers and they all seem genuinely excited in the VPN functionality for several IP applications. As for Adtran Value, it's the best as always! Orin

We are obviously pleased with the recent Editor's Choice award. The NetVanta 2054's versatility has quickly made it our most popular model in the NetVanta 2000 Series product line! Eric Lewis - ADTRAN EN Product Manager

Did you know that the NetVanta 2054 supports Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP. QoS is also supported for delay sensitive traffic like VoIP or video. To prioritize mission critical traffic and control network congestion, the NetVanta 2000 Series uses Low Latency Queuing, Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), Class-based WFQ, and DiffServ marking to establish priority of IP packets routed over the WAN. In combination with the QoS features, a specialized SIP Application Layer Gateway (ALG) allows SIP traffic to traverse NATenabled firewalls. For an enterprise network, this interoperability allows IP PBXs, phones, and other SIP-based devices to set up, tear down, and pass voice and call control messages seamlessly through the integral NAT-enabled firewall. Wow!! way to go ADTRAN.. This ability to manage QOS is key in those VoIP deployments in SOHO environment is just what the doctor ordered! Keep the products coming ADTRAN!!! Our customers have migrated to the NetVanta 2054 this past year and the feedback has been nothing but positive. Easy to setup and configure. In addition, we have not had any that were faulty upon arrival. I have one account that is implementing the NetVanta 2054w/EFP at 100 of their remote stores over the next year. We have already implemented about 20 units and our customer is very pleased. Each facility seems to have a differenct connectivity solution such as DSL or cable riding different telco networks, some with static IP's and some with dynamic IP's. It can be said that it's never boring.

I have heard that the Kentrox Q series has some great press in the VoIP market for a QOS appliance and router. They were named one of 2005 Internet Telephony Products Of The Year from Internet Telephony Magazine. see more www.kentrox.com
