Delivers MEF Compliant Services
CHATSWORTH, CA – September 19, 2005 – MRV COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (Nasdaq: MRVC), a leading provider of network equipment
and services, today announced that its carrier-class VPLS intelligent platform
OptiSwitch Master 207 (“OSM207”),
has been certified by the Metro Ethernet Forum (“MEF”) under its Carrier
Ethernet Certification Program.
The MEF Certification Program aims to provide consistent Carrier Ethernet
services worldwide. MRV was among a select group of companies to obtain the
first certification for its OSM207 platform that delivers MEF compliant Ethernet
Services. The certification was performed by the MEF-approved test laboratory
and announced at the 2005 Carrier Ethernet World Congress, Berlin, on September
13, 2005. The OSM207 successfully delivered Ethernet Private Line (“EPL”),
Ethernet Virtual Private Line (“EVPL”) and Ethernet LAN (“E-LAN”) services
compliant with MEF 9 technical specifications for such services. The OSM207 was
also compliant with in number of optional test cases.

carrier-class powerful IP/MPLS/VPLS Metro Ethernet Demarcation platform, with a
